In January 2011, at the age of 9,  I founded a non-profit called It Starts With One, to encourage kids like me to volunteer.  I wanted them to find their passion for volunteerism and in teaching them how to volunteer, I found my own.  That following October, I knew I found my purpose when I went to the grand opening of the One Place Family Justice Center.  The center provides help from 48 services organizations under one roof for the families of domestic violence. There, I met the staff from the Justice Center, the Family Sunshine Center, and Child Protect. Even though I was young, they encouraged my volunteerism and welcomed me with open arms.

Since that time, I have worked hard to raise money for special projects, immediate needs of families, and even built a two-story clubhouse in the children's room at the Center, so that it would give the children some enjoyment while they are there.

Through my platform, Hiding In Plain Sight - the Victims of Domestic Violence, I have developed a three-tier approach to tackling domestic violence issues: The Children of Domestic Violence, Teen Dating Violence Awareness, and Prevention and Domestic Violence Awareness. The three components all come together to complete a circle of violence for everyone it touches.  It is time that we all Take A Stand Against Domestic Violence.

As a Teen, my focus has shifted to the education and prevention of Teen Dating Violence.  If you are interested in having me come to your school or church to present my youth specific programs for ages 4th - 6th grades for middle school, please contact me. I have a message that every young girl needs to hear.
